Fabulous Fall Fashion
Knit a Lace Cardigan
Gudrun Johnston
In this class, Gudrun walks you through every step of making a cute, vintage-style cardigan. This seamless sweater is worked in one piece from the top down, so there are no tails to weave in at the end. All of the shaping is done with decreases, increases, and short rows, and simple lacework adorns the shoulders, giving it just a touch of sweetness. Gudrun demonstrates lots of tips and tricks along the way, including lessons on how to properly pick up stitches as well as a thorough tutorial on working in the round using the "Magic Loop” method. When the body of the sweater is finished, Gudrun will show you how to add button bands and create a Peter Pan collar, both of which are finished with an I-cord bind-off. Use this class in conjunction with the written pattern to ensure that you get the perfect fit with a polished finish.
Metallic Leather Bracelet
Elke Bergeron
Leather bracelets have a warmth and luxury to them, and it is easier than you may think to make your own. In this class, Elke shows how to make a stylish wrap bracelet with a chic metallic gold finish. Using leather working tools like a strap cutter and a beveler, she shows you how to cut the leather evenly and bevel the edges, which gives the bracelet a professional, polished look. Once the leather has been cut out, you will paint the strap, punch holes in either end, and attach a button stud to create the closure. The tools and materials required for this project are inexpensive and easy to find, making it a perfect first project for a beginning leather-worker. Cut out several leather strips at once and whip up a batch to give as gifts to friends, or keep the whole stack for yourself!
Appliqué Tunic
Amy Butler
Create a modern, two-tone tunic from jersey t-shirts, and add a graphic pop with an appliqué design of mixed prints. Amy shows how to make design decisions when you create your tunic, as well as how to prep and machine appliqué a design. This project incorporates a quilting technique into a fashion project, with Amy’s fresh sensibilities.
Crochet Hat Formula
Cal Patch
Using basic crochet stitches, Cal Patch shows you how to work in the round and make a hat in any size you like. This customizable hat is the perfect way to practice new skills, like increasing and slipstitching. With this one formula, you can go on to crochet hats in different sizes, yarn weights and colors for all of your loved ones.

I have been asked to teach this to the Needlework Guild I belong to. Your class was clear, concise generally well presented. When the work is completed, I will send photos of the completed articles..

The class was fascinating and fun to watch and do. There are some areas in the video though that went blurry at key moments, that had me going back to re-examine what was done. I realize it’s a very difficult angle to try and photograph and with such close-up views. I will be trying out some more brightly patterned fabrics, perhaps some dyed organza. Before this video I had no idea that smocking was such an art.
