Known for her pattern line “100 Acts of Sewing,” Sonya shows how to make several variations of these simple and stylish pants with just two pattern pieces. You’ll learn how to add inches to the rise to add extra room, how to replace the elastic waistband with a drawstring, how to add in-seam pockets, and a ruffle cuff. Stitch them up in linen for an everyday pant or make them in flannel to wear as cozy pajamas. These pants are endlessly customizable and deliver 4-season 24/7 style. Downloadable PDF patterns are provided for all variations and are available in 8 sizes (from 26” waist – 54” waist). 
Here’s what you’ll need:
  • 2 ½ yards of a mid-weight woven fabric such as linen, cotton, décor canvas or a natural fiber blend
  • 1 ½ yards of ¾” no-roll elastic
  • 1/2" or 3/8" wide twill tape for the drawstring
  • 2” of twill tape or ribbon for the back loop
  • Sewing machine with matching thread
  • Tracing paper and pencil
  • Pattern weights (optional)
  • Tailor’s chalk or marking pen
  • Scissors
  • Pins
  • Large safety pin or bodkin
  • Iron and ironing surface
  • Washi tape
  • Sewing gauge
