So many people have asked artist, illustrator and teacher Lindsay Stripling about her watercolor painting process that she designed an entire class around it. She’ll reveal her exact steps for creating a painting from start to finish, including brainstorming ideas, coming up with a palette, making an under drawing, painting base layers, and then adding finishing touches. Whether you follow her process or develop your own, Lindsay will encourage you to experiment and follow through on your ideas in watercolor.

I had been wanting to do a class on CreativeBug for a while now. Lindsay was a perfect teacher. I spent a lovely afternoon creating under her guidance. I highly recommend it . It makes me want to do this as a weekly practice.

Taking us through the two paintings at one time with different colored pallets, showed us the difference and the similarities, using flat washing and layering. Tying everything together with the details at the end. I love the simplified forms and the complete process that was shown from concept to finish.
