Collage invites us to look at the world and see possibility in every scrap and shape around you. Bay Area artist Erin McClusky Wheeler has built a lifelong creative practice from this simple shift in perspective, and she shows you how to do the same. You don’t need a special stash of papers to begin—Erin guides you through making your own painted collage materials and shares her favorite ways to find and reuse everyday papers. While you're free to work in any size, Erin creates 4x4-inch collage studies, each day introducing prompts that explore color, composition, layering techniques, and processes to help bring your ideas to life. If you choose to follow this format, by the end of the course you’ll have many individual squares that can be curated into a larger, cohesive art piece. Ultimately, collage becomes an act of recycling yourself—repurposing materials and ideas to create something entirely new.
