The charming Churn Dash block dates back to the early 1800s. (The block design resembles an overhead view of a butter churn, as the story goes.) Modern quilter and designer Heather Jones gives this traditional block a contemporary refresh using a cheeky print. Follow the step-by-step instructions here to make a set of your own modern Churn Dash Blocks.

In most all videos I watch, no backstitching is suggested. I really can understand the importance, in some cases. I only wish Heather would explain her reason for doing so. If I know the reason why, then I can except that instruction. Most always you are sewing the block together and handling carefully. Just my opinion. I love the Churn Dash too. Thank you Heather.
