If you don’t feel like creating an entire costume – or if you want to give your costume that final DIY touch – add one of these masks. Courtney shows you how to add embellishments to totally transform basic store-bought masks. A plush tawny owl, a bead-encrusted masquerade piece, and a striking constellation complete the set.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Materials:
  • Store bought black masks
  • hot glue gun
  • scissors
  • craft felt in autumnal colors
  • loose feathers
  • large embroidery needle
  • embroidery floss (Courtney uses neon green and metallic silver)
  • sequin trim
  • leaf shaped sequins
  • toothpicks
  • metallic craft paint
  • wooden dowel
  • paint brush
  • sharpie
  • metallic elastic cord

Great class. I really liked the mask with the sequins. Recently I found glue sticks in colors!! For this project, I would use the black glue, so the threads wouldn't disturb so much. Thanks!!
