My chosen hobby is quilting, but I can do most needle/yarn work, except tatting. I began learning to sew when I was in third or fourth grade, on a singer treadle machine. Mom began teaching me crewel and crochet before that. I also enjoy painting furniture and bird houses with my own designs. The most ambitious was a dresser with castles, flowers and unicorns. I have 5 children, 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson. I make a lot of baby quilts. Each of them received a special Christmas stocking when they join the family, and a handmade ornament every Christmas, I retired thirteen years ago.
