Painting Textiles in Acrylic Ink
This was a lovely class. I read an article by the artist in Watercolor Artist magazine and was thrilled to see that she had classes on Creative Bug. This was a nice introduction to her acrylic ink technique, which I'm anxious to play with. I medium appeals in the way that you get some bleeds and blends and can play with opacity, as in watercolor, but with the acrylic-ness, you can also achieve vibrancy and opacity without endless layering, and you are freed up to work light on dark at whim. I also enjoyed the little details in Missy's narrative as she worked her way through the pieces - the somewhat free-roaming thoughts and insights about noticing and being wary of rushing when you near the finish line on a piece, why she chose to use certain textures, why she decided to start making paintings of textiles, etc - those little things can be so very helpful to novice dabblers such as myself. Yay!
Missy is very articulate. I enjoyed watching per process. Very inspiring!!
Just adore anything Missy Dunaway! Her beautiful work is so inspiring! I can't wait to give it a try. Thank you, Missy!
