Digital Designer

Location: San Francisco, CA

The Digital Designer works with the Art Director, Video Graphics team and Lead Producer on generating a full suite of design elements for the website as well as supporting marketing campaign materials both online and print.

Job Requirements:

  • Basic HTML/CSS for designing email and online marketing campaigns
  • Adept in Google docs and related software
  • Expert user of Adobe Creative Suite, primarily graphics and layout - Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
  • 1-3 years experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent multi-tasker with outstanding people skills and the ability to stay calm and grounded under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional project management and prioritization skills
  • Enjoys arts and crafts and the startup culture of San Francisco

VP, Engineering

Location: San Francisco, CA

We are looking for a VP of Engineering to lead the engineering efforts to scale our video subscription service. The position will oversee front-end development, back-end development and Dev Ops. The current stack is built using PHP, MongoDB, and the latest HTML5 technologies.

In this role leading the engineering organization, the position will work closely with the Director of Product and Art Director.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead engineering organization across front end, back end, app development and development ops to meet product and business requirements to drive the growth of the service
  • Hire and grow the engineering organization
  • Maintain responsibility to develop our high-profile web 2.0 e-Learning, content management and distribution systems using PHP in a LAMP stack
  • Design and code new application features and functionality, writing API’s, scalability, and maintainability improvements.
  • Utilize knowledge about design patterns, as well as understanding of front end web technology including Javascript, HTML, CSS and AJAX to create social media platform.
  • Ability to deploy, troubleshoot, and oversee production environments and new releases
  • Run weekly scrum meetings for engineering milestones and progress checks
  • Experience with Ruby on Rails and AngularJS is a plus
  • Work with product and business team to develop clear timelines and manage the organization to meet deliverables
  • Oversee and optimize major partners (e.g., Akamai, Zuora)

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience
  • 6-8 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering engaging user experiences on customer web sites and portals
  • 4-5 years of experience in lead engineering capacity, heading up major threads or projects
  • 3+ years of experience managing an engineering team, including growth and hiring
  • Strong experience and advanced knowledge of PHP, MongoDB, HTML, HTML5, Javascript. Knowledge of Ruby on Rails is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with systems to include but not limited to Magento, WordPress, SugarCRM, API

Back-end Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a Frontend Sr. Engineer to oversee the consumer facing elements of our video subscription service across web, mobile and TV platforms using internal teams and external vendors. The position will oversee front-end development reporting to the VP, Engineering.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Lead frontend development of the service, including website and apps
  • Build the best and most reliable user experience across platforms working within the organization and with outside vendors
  • Understand the impact frontend development decisions have on design and backend development
  • Convert mocks and wireframes into clean and easy to maintain fully-formed HTML and CSS.
  • Create intuitive, robust, and reusable user interfaces with JavaScript.
  • Participate in the design and development of new UI functionality for web applications.
  • Find solutions for cross browser issues in both HTML/CSS and JavaScript.
  • UI/UX and A/B testing expert
  • Design and code new application features and functionality, writing APIs, scalability
  • Experience with server-side template languages such as Python (Django, Jinja) PHP (building your own WordPress themes, Drupal), JSP, Expression Engine or Ruby on Rails, a strong plus

Dev-Ops Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a Dev-Ops Engineer to manage the reliable deployment and scaling of our core product releases. The position will work closely with Frontend Sr. Engineer and Backend Engineer reporting to the VP, Engineering.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Manage code deployments, support the engineering team, manage database updates
  • Manage overall site performance (uptime, load balancing, etc)
  • Manage external dependencies and third party service providers
  • Troubleshoot downtime and manage server updates, migrations, etc
  • Report on fatalities, analytics, turn-around time, load time, etc

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent experience
  • 2-4 years of experience in designing, developing and delivering engaging user experiences on customer web sites and portals
  • Knowledge of system tools, system monitoring, reliability reporting, and logging
  • Experience with deployment tools (Chef, etc), LB setup, caching, network setup, etc

Shooter/Editor

We are looking for a shooter/editor who is creative and pays great attention to detail. We like people who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuff done. This position will report to our Director of Video Content. We pride ourselves on our content but this is a deadline-driven environment, so the ideal candidate needs to wear all hats in the production department with willingness and a good attitude.

Job Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in the film or video industry
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Premier and Final Cut
  • Knowledge of balancing, framing and lighting
  • Works well within a crew dynamic
  • Strong understanding of Photoshop and Illustrator
  • A working knowledge of After Effects
  • 3-5 years experience working in small shooting/editing team
  • Excellent multitasker with outstanding people skills and the ability to stay calm and grounded under pressure

Job Functions:
