Knitting is not just for yarn anymore! Learn how to make a faux knit texture with polymer clay. While you won't actually be knitting with clay, Faheema Chaudhury of Unicorn Crafts demonstrates a fun technique for creating a texture inspired by your favorite sweater which you can use to make unique earrings. Play with various tools like a pasta machine, clay extruder, and hand drill, and learn some basic techniques for working with polymer clay such as making a slab, cutting shapes, and adding jewelry hardware.

Here’s what you’ll need:

Gloves (optional)
One block each of Sculpey Premo in Emerald, Fuchshia and Gold, and Sculpey Souffle in Blue
Clay extruder with multiple-hole attachment
Tissue blade
Two earring posts with jump attachment for dangle earrings
Two 6mm jump rings
Two earring posts and glue (E6000 or super glue) to make stud earrings (optional)
Clay cutter for earring shape (Faheema is using an arch shape)
1/2" circulcar clay cutter optional for studs
Ceramic tile
Oven
Small jewelry drill with a bit large enough to create a hole for the jump rings and also a wool polishing bit
Pasta machine
Acrylic roller
Toothpick or nail polish dotting tool or something to make a tiny dent
