- Palm oil (or substitute another “hard oil” like tallow, lard, cocoa butter, or shea butter. Just like a cooking recipe, experiment until you find the perfect blend for you!)

so this was great to watch, I have a question. I always measured the oils and lye and water to 120 degrees then mixed. Is this way where you add the lye water to the oils fool proof? or does it ever not work well like in the winter etc? Do you heat any of the oils that are solid first then add to the lye water?
