Joan Y Howard
I watched my mother sewing as a little girl. She made her own patterns out of newspapers. I wanted to sew so was given scraps that I sewed for my doll. They were pretty ragged clothes. I took sewing in 4-H when I was 9 yrs. old, for 2 years. I learned how to first make a scarf w/fringe, then an apron, and the 2nd yr. a jumper. Then there was no more 4-H but I continued to sew, anyway. I was basically self-taught via pattern instructions but am realizing now that there are so many new (to me) techniques that makes the finished item look so much better. And how to stabilize various fabrics to prevent stretching. Am sure there are MANY "new" techniques to learn. Most fabrics have such different names that I don't know what is being described, so my first class (FREE!!) is about Fabrics 101!

Sewing, Have had a bit of experience with painting acrylics to various bisque pieces (small bldgs. mostly).
Learned a bit about Bob Ross oil painting & have finished about 6 paintings. I still have paints but no more bisque.
Also, a bit about working with stained glass for hangings. I still have glass, tools, grinder, & unfinished projects in mind.
