Sewing an A-Line skirt teaches invaluable skills, as well as delivers a versatile wardrobe staple that can be customized to fit and flatter your style. In this class, Cal covers darts, invisible zippers, French seams and bias tape facings. She uses the pattern from her Patternmaking Simplified class, but the sewing techniques she covers can be applied to a wide range of skirt patterns.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Materials:
  • 2 yards medium weight woven fabric (printed cotton- denim- corduroy- linen- etc)
  • invisible zipper to match (7″ length)
  • 1 package 1/2″ single-fold bias tape (can match or contrast with your fabric)
  • all-purpose thread
Tools:
  • Sewing machine
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • pins and pincushion
  • tape measure
  • seam ripper
  • tailor's chalk
  • invisible zipper foot (different than a regular zipper foot)
