Paint your own fabric and then turn that fabric into fish for this clever game – so you can fish anywhere (no water required!). The fish are magnetized, and the process of creating the fabric and sewing the fish can be applied to making any other shape or size stuffed animal that you can dream up.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Materials:
  • 1/4 yd. white/natural cotton fabric for front of the fish
  • 1/4 yd. Patterned or solid colored cotton for back of the fish
  • fabric paint in a variety of colors
  • paint brushes
  • scrap cardboard and masking tape
  • fish shape template PDF
  • pencil or fabric chalk
  • fabric scissors
  • hand sewing needle and thread
  • 2-3 foot long 1/4" dowel
  • U-shaped magnet
  • string for fishing rod
  • strong but small magnets for fish interior
  • straight pins
  • knitting needle or point turner
  • fiber fill stuffing
  • cup of water
