Peter Pan collars can utterly transform the look of any outfit. Amy shows you how to design your own collar pattern so the collar fits snug against your neckline, and how to incorporate tailoring techniques that ensure it lays flat and crisp once it is sewn. You’ll learn how to create removable collars that range from demure to vintage to sassy that will expand your sewing skills and the versatility of your wardrobe.
NOTE FROM AMY: In Chapter 3, Segment 2 (called “Add shaping and seam allowance”), please take note of the following: When adding the 1/2” seam allowance to the collar pattern, the edge you label FOLD should not have any seam allowance. In the video (in my excitement about this great project) I added a seam allowance (oops!) which you don’t need to do because you are cutting on the fold, no seam allowance is needed. You won’t be stitching there. If you add it, as I did, the collar will still look great, but it will be 1” wider overall than your original neck-opening tracing. - Amy

- fusible interfacing
- hook and eye closure
- ribbons or trim
- pins
- safety pins
- pen and pencil
- crewneck sweater you will wear the collar with
- sewing machine
- iron

When the presenter made the error on the seam allowance and the team realized the error had been made, the session should have been reshot.
The half inch added to the end of the pattern was pointed out as an error, but many will not check it.
When the error is allowed to stand in the presentation with only an arrow and notation, it throws into question everything else she says.
